Not over yet!

It's still snowing! It's been EIGHT days & I'm STILL snowed in. I am SO BORED! Mom has been such a scrooge. She'll only play with me for a couple hours then she has to go "do stuff". I am so bored. BUT! I learned something new. Snow is FUN! I learned that I can go all over the yard even if there is 17" of snow out there. If I go along the fence or follow Skye Dog's path I can go all over, even under the bushes & all along the back part. I even got into the garden this morning! I was having a blast, there were even squirrels on the fence for me to bark at! Then Mom had to go ruin it all & call me in. She was standing on the deck in her slippers calling & calling me. She didn't know where I was, he he he. I sure fooled her. Now she's all mad at me, says I can't go out "unsupervised" any more. That she has to bundle up & put her boots on just to take me out. What a scrooge, I was fine by myself! But no, Mom didn't want me to get lost in a snowbank.

We're supposed to go to the BTCWW trial on Friday, hmmmm, I hope we go! Jolie

Brrrrrr!

I am BORED! It is freezing and we have LOTS of snow. Mom won't take me anywhere except to the backyard so I can potty. I didn't get to go to agility class last week & Mom says we might not get to go next week either. All there is to do is to chase the cat and play tug & fetch with Mom all day long. I'd be bugging her to play right now but she said my blog needs updating, so here I am.

Our last trial was the Weimeraner trial at Argus Ranch. I almost got a double Q on Saturday but I went in the tunnel instead of taking the a-frame in standard (ha ha ha I just love those tunnels!) Then on Sunday the standard course was a really fast one. Mom was really worried about the dogwalk because a lot of the big dogs were blowing their contacts. It was "jump jump chute jump then dogwalk" everydog was just flying, it went so fast. I got ahead of her on the dogwalk & all she could do was say "Jolie TOUCH" before I jumped off (remember how much I LOVE to fly off the dogwalk!) and I listened this time. So we got standard. Then jumpers wasn't bad at all so we got double Q #19. Mom was so happy! I was happy that she was happy.

Our next trial is the Boston Terrier trial in Elma Dec. 27, 28 & 29. I hope we get to go, the roads are still pretty bad :(

Eighteen

We just got back from the 3 day Sno-King trial at Argus ranch and boy am I tired! This is going to be short so I can take a nap. On Saturday we ran JWW first and got first place. Didn't get standard but it was close. On Sunday we did standard first and Q'd. Mom said we would have placed but I was being a brat & didn't want to do my down on the table (brat??? ME????) In jumpers Mom didn't push me so I didn't run really fast. We got 4th place and a double Q. That means I have 18 double Q's now. On Monday we smoked in standard! Mom said we could have gotten first but I was being a brat again & took forever to sit on the table. So we ended up with 2nd place. In jumpers Mom was bad & almost ran into a jump so I missed a jump. Does anyone know where I can get a new handler?
Time for my nap now, sniff ya later,

Next trial: Weim trial Dec. 6 & 7, Elma

Achoo!

On Saturday we headed down to Argus Ranch for the Welshie trial. Mom said we got a gift in Standard. What?????? I didn't receive ANYTHING! No present, no chewies, no toys, nothing! Just the same old boring treats. If anyone wants to know more about this "gift" they're going to have to talk to mom because I have NO CLUE what she's talking about. Then in jumpers I got to the third pole in the weaves & then I felt it coming, there was no way I could stop it. I SNEEZED! Well I can't weave while I'm sneezing so I missed a pole & that was that for jumpers.

Sunday we headed back to Argus. I didn't want to go because it was wet outside. Mom wrapped me up in a towel so I stayed nice & dry when we walked to the arena. It wasn't that bad after all. In standard we got it, yippee! Then when we were getting ready to run jumpers mom wasn't smiling. Something about not looking forward to running the really really really tricky course. Well she kept me on course the whole time even though I almost went the wrong way a couple times and we got it! Yippee! That made one very happy mom and double Q #17.

Next trial : Sno-King Nov. 8, 9, & 10, Argus.

Stuck on 16

On Friday mom packed up our stuff & we took off for the Timberland Valley Dog Fanciers trial in Tumwater. The standard course was pretty tricky and we were doing GREAT until I saw the tunnel by the weaves. You know me, if there's a tunnel, I'm in it! I'm just a tunnel kind of girl I guess! I made up for it in jumpers & we got 2nd place, mom was happy.

On Saturday I got to run in FAST! We haven't done FAST in ages. Hey, I got the bonus! The only problem was that it was the novice bonus & we're in open. Mom tried to get me in the right end of the tunnel but the wrong end was soooooo tempting I just couldn't help myself. Too bad we weren't in novice or else we would've Q'd.

Then everyone was talking about the standard course. It had two U-shaped tunnels at the end of the dog walk. We had to run down the dog walk, enter one tunnel, then cross & enter the far side of the other tunnel. All the big dogs kept sucking into the wrong side. Not me, I got it! We got 2nd place.

Then in jumpers we were doing great but mom forgot to focus at the end of the weaves & I missed a jump because she didn't tell me to take it. Bad mom. She says we are stuck on 16 & that 16 is the new 13. Whatever. I just want to run & have fun!

Next trial: Nov. 1 & 2 Argus

We don't do WET

Well we went back to the CDC trial this morning & ran standard. It was WET. I told mom " I don't do WET". We stayed so she could work the tall dogs class but by the time jumpers started it was still WET. So we packed up & came home. Now I am right where I belong, warm, dry & curled up on the couch.

Slip & Slide

Today at the CDC trial in Monroe it was WET! Mom was afraid of slippin' & slidin' all over the course. Yesterday she slipped and when she was trying to get her balance back I took the jump she was pointing at. How was I supposed to know she really meant for me to take the teeter? It was so wet & slippery today that one poor guy slipped & tore a tendon. An ambulance had to come & take him away. I'm sure glad that didn't happen to my mom, what would I do if someone took her away! She was running really cautiously but she must have had a brain spasm since sent me one way when I was supposed to go the other way. What was she thinking! So no Q in standard.

We Q'd in jumpers but the timer didn't go off. We have NO idea how fast I ran. I didn't like running in the rain so mom told the judge "that's okay, we're not going to run for time". (Thanks Mom!). I know I did good though! It was a tricky course & we got it!

Going back tomorrow, I hope it's not raining!

Stay means GO & run as fast as you can!

Hee hee hee I played a funny trick on Mom yesterday. At the BVKA trial in Oak Harbor the standard course had a very tricky opening. It was jump jump then a hard left turn to the weaves. Mom left me at the start line & told me "stay". Sheesh, doesn't she know that stay means GO and run as fast as you can? I took off running & all she could do was yell "Jolie WEAVE" and hope for the best. She's still mad at me for making her go to Plan C but we still Q'd & got first place & 46 points!
We didn't get a double Q because I didn't Q in JWW (BUT I was good & did my stay!!). Mom said she was too tired out from trying to keep up with me in standard. The weaves were the 2nd to the last obstacle & mom just couldn't keep up. I had to check up on her so I popped out. A girl's gotta watch out for her mom you know!

Next trial: CDC Sept. 19, 20 & 21 in Monroe

WWHC Trial Marymoor Park

Yesterday we went to Marymoor Park in Redmond, WA for the WWHC trial and got another double Q! We got 2nd place in standard. Mom was proud of me because I listened well & got the contacts, yay! Then in JWW we got first place. Mom was so excited & proud of me because it was the first time ever we beat a certain very well known pap in jumpers. She was even more proud of me when she figured out that I ran my fastest ever yards per second in jumpers ~ 5.37! What can I say, I love to run! We came home with 75 more points, not bad for a days work.

See ya at the EGRC trial next weekend!

Fifteen!!

That's how many double Q's I have now. We went to the OKC trial in Enumclaw on Friday. It was HOT. Mom put ice bottles in my crate & turned the fan on. Then the horror ~ I got dunked! I did NOT need a bath, I smelled just fine, thank you. Then we got to run standard ~ mom said it's probably good it was so hot because it slowed me down & I didn't miss any contacts this time. Then I had to get dunked AGAIN! Sheesh! This time was just before JWW. It was a fun course with a lot of straight lines. Mom said it was a good thing I wasn't running my fastest. She can keep up better with me when I'm slow. Come on mom, you need to run faster, get with it! We got third in both standard & jww.

Next trial: August 22, Marymoor Park, Redmond, WA.

Gig Harbor Trial

Yesterday me & mom went to the Gig Harbor trial in Lakebay. We got to see Grandma Wanda & had a blast! We got another double Q! BUT mom wasn't too happy with me. In standard she left me at the start line! I didn't want to be left behind so I ran fast to catch up with her. She wasn't happy because she said that made her change her game plan. Why I have no idea, we still got the tricky opening! Then I was so happy to be running I jumped off the A-frame. Mom said I must have had one toe in the yellow 'cause the (nice) judge didn't call us on it. So we ended up with second place :) And then we got second place in jww too, so we got another double Q.

Now mom says I need some retraining, sheesh!

Sniff ya later,
Jolie

Today we went to the Northwest Bearded Collie Club of Puget Sound trial in Enumclaw and got another double Q! AND first place in standard & 2nd place in JWW. It was fun, we drove down with Bonnie, Kaci, Kelly, & Pearl. Mom loves excellent only Fridays :) I got 44 points in standard and 13 in jumpers, whoo hoo! Mom is so proud of me!

We're Going!

We did it! Mom & I got the final double Q we needed to qualify for the AKC National Agility Championships! It happened at the Evergreen Golden Retriever Club trial at Argus Ranch on June 14. We already had the points (Mom says I have so many points I could give a lot away & still have enough!) Yippee, we're going to Nationals!
